Reading – We will be reading the story “One Grain of Rice.” The skill will be comparing and contrasting Language – Recognize and use troublesome words (to, too, two, there, their, they’re) , reviewing adjectives, and writing sentences correctly Science – saving our resources and pollution Math – “8” multiplication tables, using a map scale, and measurement Spelling – contractions, singular and plural possessives, and ABC order Tests for the week:
Thursday – adjectives Friday – spelling, reading, and vocabulary Classroom and School Information:
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be: Tuesday January 29 from 4:00pm-7:00 pm.
PTO meeting is on January 29 at 5:00 pm. A guest speaker will present information concerning school safety. Our classroom is still in need of tissues. Our supply will be empty soon. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. |

Classroom and
School Information:
- We are at the time of the year when
students sometimes begin to slack in their work. Please encourage your
child to try their best in completing class work and studying for tests.
We are working on a lot of review skills to prepare for TCAP in April. It
is important that they take pride in their work and do their best.
- On March 3, we will celebrate Read
Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Look for a special
family activity on Friday. If you would like to read a Dr. Seuss book to
our class on Monday, please let me know.

- Thank you for sending all of the
wonderful goodies for Valentine’s Day. The students had lots of sweets for
the party and to take home.

permission slip is due this Friday.
