General Biology I- The study of living things. Required.
Includes study of beginner biochemistry, cells , principles of genetics, basic ecology, and natural selection.
Honors Biology I- A more rigorous study of living things than the general biology described above, designed for those students that are definitely college bound and possibly choosing a medical career. Includes additional research, reading and writing assignments and more rigorous exams then General Biology I.
Honors Biology II: This rigorous course is geared towards the college-bound student and explores fundamental biology concepts at a deeper level. Genetics, Ecology, Botany, Comparative Anatomy with Dissections and a study of Organ Systems are a focus of the course. Independent Research Study and Essay Exams are the norm.
Physical Science: A comprehensive introduction to the sciences of Matter, Chemistry, Energy, and Motion. Chemistry and Newtonian Mechanics are a major focus of this course.
Computer Applications and Web Design:
Students learn primarily by working with popular web design, graphics, and multi-media software on a daily basis in a real-world setting. Students work collaboratively with the Multi-Media Productions class to keep our website synchronized and up to date with news and video announcements. Students also build individual web sites as part of their final grade.
